The Ruby-Throated humming bird travels across the Gulf of Mexico to So. America twice a year, passing through So. Texas by the thousands.  Although they do nest here the majarity move further north.

The Buff-Bellied hummming bird is  found in deep So. Texas woods.

This beautiful little bird is very shy and hard to view.  Both sexes look similar, with a beautiful irradesent green throat and head, and a bright red bill.

The Rufous hummingbird is very obvious with its rusty red color.  The Rufous only migrate through So. Texas so we only get them for a brief period of time.  Here one pauses for a moment on a misquete.
